Michelle Peterson, PT, DPT, PhD, CCS is a licensed physical therapist with a clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Drexel University, PA. In addition, Dr. Peterson has a PhD in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. As an APTA Board Certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist, Dr. Peterson currently serves as the lead ICU therapist at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, NJ and as an adjunct faculty member at Rutgers University. Dr. Peterson is actively involved in research and has published an article in the Journal of Acute Care Physical Therapy. Dr. Peterson is a firm believer of collaborative care within the ICU and putting theory and evidence into practice. As a lead clinician, Dr. Peterson has been integrally involved in developing the role of the rehabilitation professional in the ICU, enabling her to earn the Champion Award at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in 2007. Dr Peterson has also provided service to the community and enhanced her teaching ability through instruction of CPR classes and providing lectures to various organizations within the community. Her passion for teaching and joy in seeing the critically ill patient improve functionally makes her an apt instructor for this program.
